Witnessing the sunrise is one of my life’s great pleasures. Upon my arrival, the lake was covered with an early morning mist and the birds were already beginning their search for food along the shore. I waited for just the right amount of light to capture this photograph of the changing colors in this ethereal scene. —Lauren Karp
